1. Consultation

A consultation is a chance for us to chat about your project and determine if my artstyle and abilities can accurately deliver what you need. We will talk about things like subject matter(s), commission type(s), file types to be delivered, uses of the image(s), deadline(s), update/check-in schedule, and any special requests. All of this information will be used to create a scope for the project.

The Process

2. Artist Agreement & Down Payment

No one likes paperwork, but this time it’s beneficial. My services require the completion of an Artist Agreement which outlines the scope of the project, the price, and your rights to the image’s use. This paperwork provides proof that the image I am creating is yours and, in the event you want to use it commercially, you can do so without question (provided that the one-time Commercial License Fee is paid).

Using an illustration by me commercially includes selling as prints, using in a game that will be sold, anything that will directly bring you profit. Commercial licenses are not required if you are using it as free promotional content (giveaways or freebies with a purchase).

Once the Artist Agreement is signed, a nonrefundable 50% down payment for the project will be sent. Production will begin once this payment is made.

3. Frequent Updates & Progress Shots

Throughout the illustration process, you will have the ability to direct the shape that the artwork is taking. My default update breakdown is sketch>color & lighting>refinement (depending on which commission option you select).

Each stage of the commission process allows for one free chance to request changes. When I deliver the altered artwork, I will provide a side-by-side of the before and after for you to choose which one you like better. After that, there is a $25/hour fee for additional changes.

Updates and progress shot frequency is negotiable.

4. Delivery of Final Product & Completion Payment

Once the final illustration is approved, the completion payment will be due. This is 50% of the total price of the commission.

The file(s) will be prepared in accordance with our Artist Agreement and delivered via DropBox link unless otherwise specified.

5. Inclusion in Clients & Affiliates List and Social Media Sharing (Optional)

Afterwards, you have the option to be added to my Clients and Affiliates list. This list comprises of all my clients with links to their social media, websites, and/or projects. I strongly believe in supporting each other and as a thank-you for your business, I do my best to add an avenue for people to discover you and your work.

 FAQs

    • Character(s) appearance(s): eye color, hair color/length/style, clothing/style, pose/action, color palette, mood, etc. Visual references are welcome in place of written descriptions.

    • File types you want delivered: I can provide as many file types as yo would like, but please inform me of these upfront because they will be listed in my Artist Agreement.

    • Deadline(s): The date that you will need the art by. I recommend giving yourself 1-2 weeks cushion for edits. ease reference commission tiers for an estimate of realistic deadlines.

    • Story Excerpt or description of character(s) personalities: Some clients send me an electronic copy of their books or a script excerpt from their comic or game. This helps me get a feel for the character(s) and results in a more expressive illustration.

    • Environment/Background Requests: If you have a specific idea in mind, please feel welcome to let me know.

  • I will not draw:

    • NSFW

    • Morally questionable content (at the discretion of the Artist)

    • Furry (people with animal traits are acceptable)

    • I reserve the right to decline any commission

    • I do not accept returns on commissions.

    • I accept cancellations up to the end of the sketching stage. Please note that the down-payment is non-refundable, but you will not be charged for completion. Cancelled commissions are not delivered to Clients.

    • You can upgrade your commission to a higher tier. The price for tis is paying the difference between the current commission tier and the requested tier.

    • You can also upgrade previously created commissions as long as they were drawn by my hand.

    • You may use your commission commercially if you have purchased a commercial license from me. This is a one-time fee and covers printing on merchandise and/or using in projects to be sold (ie. games/book covers).

    • I would appreciate if you didn’t sell your commission as an NFT, but that is up to your discretion if you have purchased a commercial license.

    • I can, but I recommend printing it yourself at a local print shop. The price for me to print, handle, and ship your commission will be higher than doing it yourself at a local print shop.

    • If you do happen to want me to print the commission for you, I will require a fee covering the materials and shipping. All commission prints are shipped directly from my print partners.

    • The Artist Agreement must be signed before work can begin on your commission.

    • The Artist Agreement is non-negotiable with the exception of the deliverables (jpg, PDF, PSD, etc.) and the project deadline. If a change must be made after the Artist Agreement is signed, the Client can request an amendment, which will need to be signed by both the Artist and the Client before going into effect.
